Monday Selling Tip: How to Sell with Confidence!

As photographers, we are artists right?  Well now we have to make a living from our art and how do we make that transition from artist to sales person?  In our studio, there is only a fine line because I am both of those job descriptions!  Alex and I both shoot, then I do the sales after the wedding/portrait session.  Over the course of our business, I have seen a positive trend of bigger and bigger sales.  There is no secret, I believe it comes from confidence and good products.  If you really do believe in what you are selling (like, really really believe in it) then it is an easy sell!

We made the switch to Kambara because we simply weren’t happy with our old album company.  Turn around times were brutal and after having to send 2 albums back from defects, we were fed up.  Kambara was a turning point in our sales. I truly couldn’t wait to see our client’s album as a finished product and I knew they were going to love it so I was happy.

Also, with the new styles and cover options, Kambara has given us a selling edge.  In my area, we are the first studio to offer the new acrylic covers and custom matted layouts.  This gives us confidence when we sell our products by offering our clients something different.  Who isn’t happy to buy something new and different?  I use these “keywords” when showing them the album so it is basically selling itself!

We also offer discounts as they go bigger and bigger with their albums.  This encourages unique sizes and again, sets us apart from the competition.  I love seeing our work on a panoramic or super tall album!  What great exposure for our company, right?  Clients show their friends and families an album that is like no other, and it makes our company look great!

So what is stopping you from those big after sales?  Fear of being too pushy?  Not sure if people will like whatever you are selling?  Think it’s too expensive?  Remedy all those issues by really taking a look at the products you sell.  If it a good quality product that is worth the price you are charging, then you won’t feel pushy when the product is something you believe in!

Oh and by the way, you have to have samples to show your clients.  That sounds basic but believe me, it is key.  Kambara offers 50% off studio samples so take advantage.

Good luck!
