What are your customers looking and asking for?

When it comes to leading the pack and staying ahead of your competition – there are some key factors to consider:

  • Your skills, strengths and weaknesses
  • Your photographic style
  • Your marketing and branding plans
  • Listening to your customers

Your customers – An important asset and resource

Have you listened to your customers lately? Have you really been hearing what they are asking for? Are you tapping into this resource as much as you should?

What are some of the ways you can interact and get feedback from your clients?

  • Ask a question on your blog
  • Ask them on the phone
  • Ask them during a consultation
  • Make note of what they talk about and suggest during the photo shoot
  • Send out a survey (Looking for an easy to use and set up tool for surveys? Survey Monkey offers a free service that is easy to use and only takes minutes to set up.)

Now that you know what your clients, are looking for, how does your studio answer? Are you creating a marketing plan that taps into those needs with options to upgrade and add on? Are you creating products and package offerings that play to your strengths while still offers a compelling reason to buy?

Customer & Product Trends by Region

It is always amazing to us, here at Kambara, how different each region of the US and Canada are. What is huge in our local Northwest may barely move in the Southeast. White and Ivory albums are at times in great demand in Florida but here in Oregon we have request for blacks and browns. Yes there are common threads throughout the industry but each region may have a slightly different take or twist.

What about you and your clients – do you have regions just in your local area? What type of colors, styles and products are your customers looking for? As important as it is for you to listen to your customers it is just as important for us to listen to you?

Post your comments below: Do you agree that regions are different? What are some of the most requested products you have received this year?
